It what will come as no surprise to anyone who has been following Ryo’s time with FC Twente, the Dutch side will not extend his deal beyond the summer.

Struggling for time since his arrival there on loan, the Japanese international, along with a number of other players, have been told that the club will not be taking up their options once their deals expire in the summer.

The 22-year-old has played a total of 362 minutes in the league this season with zero goals and zero assists across his eight appearances, spending more of his time playing for their reserves.

Out of contract next summer it will be likely that Arsenal will look to move him on this summer if they can find a buyer as he would seem to be a universe away from the Arsenal first team.

Injuries have certainly hampered the youngster’s development but even, considering the time he has spent on the sidelines, I think it’s safe to say that he hasn’t quite come on as the club would have expected.

Twente also delivered the news to six other players:  Andrej Rendla, Filip Bednarek, Rasmus Bengtsson, Tim Breuker, Dico Koppers, and Orlando Engelaar.
