The Arsenal Ladies are the current  FA Women’s Cup holders.

Having won seven out of the last ten trophies, including the last two season, Arsenal begin their defence of the cup this weekend at the Den on the 22nd March with a kick-off at 2pm.

Arsenal Ladies recently defeated the Lionesses in a pre-season friendly played a month ago. It was a comfortable win 3-0 with goals from Carla Humphrey, Rachel Yankey and Jordan Nobbs.

Millwall Lionesses kicked off their FA WSL season with a home game against last season’s bottom side, London Bees, on Wednesday and they registered a 0-0 draw.

They created many chances but were not clinical enough while former Arsenal player, Sophie Harris, had a very good game in goal for the Bees.

Millwall Lionesses played in a 4-4-2 diamond formation with the following line-up:

Quantrill, Cowan, Lennon (c), Cole, Strugnell, Frisk, Agg, Sherwood, Bilson, Goss, Babajibe. Albert, Edwards and Butler came on as subs.

Arsenal Ladies will be able to find space behind their two full back as well as in midfield with quick passing to go around Millwall’s diamond. Width will be also needed as defending in a diamond shape is very narrow.

Lily Agg pulled the strings in midfield while Rinsola Babajibe up front with her pace were the main players for them on the night.

Arsenal Ladies played their final pre-season friendly against Yeovil Town on Sunday, and won 4-2 with a number of players not available through injury.

The starting 11 will be picked from the following squad, although there is uncertainty as to who will be available on Sunday as Vyan Sampson has been injured and is likely to miss a good part of the season.

Goalkeepers: S Chamberlain (likely to start after playing 90 minutes against Yeovil last week ), E Byrne.

Defenders : A Scott, C Stoney, J Rose, E Mitchell, V Sampson, T Oliver.

Midfielders: L Williamson, V Losada, J Nobbs, J Bailey, C Weir.

Forwards: L Sanderson, D Carter, N Sanchon, R Yankey, C Humphrey, K Smith, C Ubogagu (?), C Kelly.
