What a game we’ve got coming up!

In addition to our extensive pre-match coverage of the game, we’ve gotten our writers together for a short prediction on how they think the game will pan out.

And if you think we’re just going to throw these predictions out there and then forget about them, fear not.

We’ll be back to take a look at how we did and laughing at the person who got it wrong more than anyone else.

Lee Hurley Win 4-1 (progress)

Goddamm it Arsenal if you haven’t got me believing we can do the impossible!

My heart is firmly in charge of this prediction and as I go for my third correct one in a row, it’s maybe getting a bit carried away with itself.

Still, like I said before the game at Old Trafford, things change.

We’re due.

Get an early goal and all bets are off.

Helen Trantum Win 2-0 (out)

Arsenal have made the last 16 for twelve consecutive seasons, and on each of the last four we have been eliminated at this stage.

In the first legs we’ve tried winning (2-1 v Barcelona) losing (twice v Bayern) and losing heavily (4-0 v AC Milan), and on each occasion we have been eliminated. However, on three of those four occasions it has been by a solitary goal or on the away goals rule.

Arsenal are masters of heroic failure.

We had enough chances in the home leg to demonstrate that we can absolutely go to Monaco and score three goals despite their much-fancied defence. Certainly I expect Giroud to start, and with a point to prove.

However, although recent results have me teetering towards a dream result, I can’t get past the idea of yet another heroic failure.

A 2-0 win but yet another elimination on away goals.

Prove me wrong Arsenal!

Stephen Bradley Win 2-1 (out)

Considering what the score is right now, I’d be amazed if Monaco didn’t set up exactly as they did at the Emirates three weeks ago, with the focus on trying to pick us apart on the counter again.

If they do, then we have a chance because as bad as our defending was that night, we created more than enough chances to score three goals. If they sit back, we’ve shown over the last couple of weeks that we can deal with that tactic.

But I just can’t see us clawing three goals back. If it was two, I’d be far more confident, but three just seems like a bridge to far.

It’ll be the rare ,confidence-sapping 2-1 win.

Paul Williams Win 3-0 (progress)

Wellllllll, I’ve been in the pub…

Sylvain Jamet Win 2-0 (out)

I think qualification will be very difficult to achieve. The Stade Louis II pitch is well known for being rubbish unfortunately

I believe the team can win by two but that wont be enough.

2-0 Arsenal with a goal per half.

Lewis Ambrose Win 2-1 (out)

Well, what to expect? The first leg was awful but our only poor result recently.

If we get our football flowing like against West Ham you never know! We found a nice balance between defence and attack at Old Trafford but we need to win by 3, or at least 3-1 against a really disciplined and organised team. One that hasn’t conceded at home in Europe this season.

I just can’t see us pulling it off.

AS Monaco 1-2 Arsenal.

Nia Griffiths Win 2-1 (out)

I do think we’ll win. Do I think we’ll score enough to progress? No.

We have momentum against a team we should’ve beaten in the first leg but the damage is likely already done.

Saying that, it takes the pressure off a little and could make for an entertaining match if we really go for it.

Hopefully our team faces this match with the same attitude we faced AC Milan a few seasons ago.

We went 4-0 away and managed to get three goals back.

2-1 to us, I reckon.

Close but no cigar.

Andi Foster Win 2-1 (out)

As much as I want to say that Arsenal will go through, I can’t see it happening.

Arsenal have had a number of ‘close but no cigar’ second legs in Europe (Bayern, AC Milan) due to first leg balls-ups and yet again I think that this will be one step too far for the Gunners.

Arsenal will win, I dont doubt that and at some point I’m pretty sure it could be close – but Arsenal wont progress.

I’ll go for a 2-1 win

Sean Ferguson Win 3-0 (progress)

Hopefully Monaco will think the game is already won and put in a half hearted performance.

If we create as many chances as we did in the first leg we will score, it’s just a shame Giroud had a off day then.

Let’s hope for an early goal to make them nervous and push on from there!

I guess we’ll see Bellerin come back in for Chambers and maybe Santi for Walcott, if fit enough I’d like to see Ramsey start again along side Le Coq.

If I’m being sensible I’m going to go for a 2-0 win and another “heroic failure” but I’m going to be optimistic and go for 3-0 to the Arsenal!

Mark Fine Win 2-0 (out)

I’m just going to get to the point – we beat ourselves in the first leg, and we’re probably going to pay for it in the second.

We allowed them three away goals which means we at least have to match it and not concede in order to advance. It’s in the realm of possibilities that we can do this and I always think we’re capable. We’ve proved we can do this on anyone’s ground.

The problem is, I just don’t see it happening.

Monaco are a much, much better side than people give them credit for.

Although we played poorly when we met them last, they were patient, disciplined, well-organised, and well-distributed back-to-front, taking any opportunity we gave them.

That might have been a fluke for us, but not for them. I watched them beat Bastia exactly the same way on Friday at Stade Louis II (if not even more aggressively) – but using their “B” Team.

Yes, I know we’re better than Bastia, a mid-table Ligue 1 side who ended up with nine men after all was said and done.

But, most of the damage was done before Bastia were even down to 10 and they were so frustrated they resorted to Sunday league tactics.

There’s something to be said for a team that looks and plays the same no matter what personnel are used – like interchangeable parts – and that’s a credit to Jardim’s coaching.

I think we will have learned from the first leg and we’ll give it a fighting chance to win the leg 0-2, but will come just short on away goals.

Scoring three against Monaco will be just a bridge too far.

Anita Sambol Win 4-2 (progress)

It’s the hope that kills us, but I can’t help myself.

4-2 Arsenal, we can do it, we’re on a good run, team is in great spirit and Monaco have to concede at some point!

There’s nothing to lose in this one, just go out and play and enjoy the game.

I won’t be mad if we don’t make it, as long as we try!
