Chuba Akpom is apparently set to move on loan for the rest of the season and has now reaffirmed his commitment to England amidst interest from Nigeria.

Wooed by the NFF, Akpom looks set to continue on ploughing away for the England u21’s in the hope of eventually making a breakthrough to a senior team and given the fact that they seem to think Harry Kane is a god, Akpom’s future looks bright.

Speaking to the press in Nigeria, Akpom said

“I grew up in east London, but I now live round the corner from The Hive – so to potentially be playing a game for England so locally is very exciting.

“I’m really looking forward to it.

“All my mates and a lot of my family will be down to watch the game so it’s going to be a great night.

“Over the past few years I’ve played lots of games for England around the country and abroad but never in London, so it’s going to be a special game for me personally.

“We’ve got a few London boys in the squad so I’m sure everybody will be up for this one.”

A number of clubs have shown their interest in the striker but it looks as if Norwich are the frontrunners for Akpom’s loan signature.

Playing the Championship regularly should give him invaluable experience that will allow him to push on next season with the Arsenal first team and given the few games that remain and the number of fit forwards Arsenal actually have, he’s much better away from the club and playing than staying and not.
