With two goals in two games, Aaron Ramsey has returned with a bang.

The midfielder came on as a second-half substitute against Monaco on Tuesday night and despite making a difference and scoring the second goal, he couldn’t help his side find a way to a third and progression.

In and out of the side this season due to three hamstring injuries, it has been a frustrating time for the Welshman as he struggled to find enough regular playing time to hit the heights he scaled last season.

But, back now and with the problem at the root of his hamstring issues apparently sorted, he is looking like the player we all know and love.

Speaking to Arsenal.com, Ramsey revealed how difficult it was for him as he struggled but also that he is hopeful that he can remain fit for the remainder of the season.

He said

“It’s good – I’m happy.

“I have been disappointed with the number of injuries I’ve had this year – it is always difficult when you are in a stop-start scenario, but I’m feeling good and hopefully I can stay injury-free for the rest of the season.

He then went on to talk about the general good spirit that exists amongst his teammates as he added

“We have a good group here, everyone gets on and we are quite positive no matter what happens during the season.

“I think the consistency has been really good [recently]. That’s one thing we probably suffered with in the first half of the season – winning games and then slipping up. We seem to have dealt with that and hopefully we can just continue that now.

“We have all stuck by each other, but when you’re on a good run it is nice and everyone is happy. If you come in after a loss it is quite down and low, but when you are on a winning run everyone is happy and can’t wait for the next game.”

Ramsey is likely to be handed a start against Newcastle on Saturday as Arsenal continue in their quest for second place in the league.
