Thierry Henry will be honoured before France’s friendly against Brazil.

The Arsenal legend, who announced his retirement from playing in December, will be one of three French players to be honoured by a special ceremony on the pitch before the game for achieving more than 100 international caps.

Marcel Desailly and Patrick Vieira will be the other two players to receive the same award on the night with Lillian Thuram receiving his at a later date due to a prior commitment on the 26th March.

The friendly against Brazil had been the focus of a shortlived campaign to see Henry handed a final, farewell cap.

Starting just after he left New York Red Bulls at the end of his contract, the calls ended with Henry’s announcement that he would no longer be playing.

Now a pundit with Sky and having to breathe the same air as the likes of Jamie Redknapp, with his coaching badges about to start, it won’t be long until he’s home and safe from the likes of him.
