Olivier Giroud is loving his football at the minute.

In the form of his career and fresh from scoring his 50th Arsenal goal against Crystal Palace, a simple goal that required him being in the right place at the right time to enable Danny Welbeck’s parried shot to land right on his toe, things couldn’t be going any better for the Frenchman.

Now, he’s taken time out from grooming himself to heap praise on one of his teammates – Mest Ozil

Giroud told Telefoot in France

“Ozil, he is a calm force.

“He is very calm, perhaps even introverted, but very much technically at ease. And when he is playing at a level of high confidence, he makes the difference.”

Ozil has been in scintillating form since his return from the knee injury he picked up against Chelsea back in October.

Still criticised by many who never take the time to actually watch him play and who get all their information from the highlights on Match of the Day, Ozil sneaks around the pitch like a silent assassin, effortlessly creating space for himself and others while covering every blade of grass on the pitch.

His languid style gives people the impression he doesn’t care, they’d rather he ran around like a lunatic than actually play his game and be effective.
