Chuba Akpom will sign a new four-and-a-half year deal.

Reports emerged today that the forward, who had received offers from Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund as he entered the final six months of his contract, will put his signature on a new offer from Arsenal and commit his future to the club he has been at since he was six.

Late on deadline day there was speculation that he would also be sent out on loan with a deal possible when the emergency loan window opens on 10th February, however it is not clear how much truth there is to this report.

According to the report in the Mirror, the deal offered to Akpom is the biggest handed out by Arsene Wenger to a player of his age and experience.

Quite what that means is not clear at this point.

There were also reports on Monday evening that Francis Coquelin’s new deal will see him move from £50k per month to £50k per week but we were unable to substantiate those reports which allegedly originated from Eurosport.
