The Ox will not take part in Arsenal’s game against Leicester.

Suffering from a groin injury, the wide man was ruled out by Arsene Wenger at his pre-game press conference on Monday morning.

Wenger told the assembled journalists:

“Chamberlain is still out. He’s not back. He’s got at least two more weeks.”

The key words in that statement being ‘at least’.

The problem has been a long-standing one for the Ox who has missed the last two matches with the problem which flared up again on Boxing Day against QPR.

Thankfully, with Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil recovered from their respective injuries, his loss has not been felt as keenly as it might but he is certainly being missed – what price his durect running and forcefulness against Spurs on Saturday, for instance?
