Kieran Gibbs believes that Arsenal have the squad to enable them to fight on three fronts for the rest of the season.

Usually crippled because of injuries, people outside of Arsenal are finally starting to realise just what a great squad Arsene Wenger has assembled over the past few seasons and it is an embarrassment of riches that looks set to give the manager more than a few headaches between now and the end of the season.

With Arsenal still in the FA Cup and Champions League as well as in a good position to mount a top four challenge, Gibbs believes that it has been a long time since Arsenal were able to call on a big squad.

He would be right.

Gibbo said

“We certainly have the squad to compete on three fronts at the moment. This is what we want to do. We need a big squad to do that.

“It is probably the first time it has been like this for a while because normally we have something go wrong with a player and the team, not picks itself, but it has been easier in the past.”

Making his comeback against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup at the weekend, Gibbs played like a man who was determined to claim back his left-back slot from Nacho Monreal.

The Spaniard has been in excellent form recently and has done nothing that would warrant being benched.

Utilising the squad for the cup could, however, see Gibbs given the chance to help Arsenal overcome their Old Trafford hoodoo.
