Arsenal have been drawn against Manchester United in the quarter final of this year’s FA Cup.

The game, which will be played at Old Trafford, will take place on the weekend of Saturday 7th March with the date to be confirmed.

Manchester United secured their passage to the next round by cheating against Preston North End on Monday night.

Going behind, they equalised through a Marouane Fellaini goal before Ander Herrara gave them the lead with Wayne Rooney in a clear offside position and interfering with play.

Their victory was sealed when Wayne Rooney dived to win a penalty in the 87th minute which he then converted.

The draw in full:

  • Liverpool-Blackburn
  • Bradford-Reading
  • Aston Villa-West Brom
  • Preston/Man Utd-Arsenal

Arsenal drew Liverpool at home in the rehearsal draw:

  • Bradford v Aston Villa
  • Reading v Blackburn
  • West Brom v Preston/Man Utd
  • Arsenal v Liverpool

Should Arsenal win the tie they will be set for their fourth trip to Wembley in under 12 months.

Chasing down the club’s 12th FA Cup, which would take them clear of Manchester United as the most successful club in the history of the competition.

Arsene Wenger is looking for his sixth FA Cup win which would make him the most successful manager in the history of the world’s oldest cup compeition which started back in 1871.

Not bad for a man who some say doesn’t care nor respect the competition, eh?
