Arsenal got lucky against Leicester on Tuesday night.

We started off cautiously and Leicester City got a couple of good chances in, however, during the middle third, either side of half time, we played pretty well.

We scored a couple of goals and looked promising and were reasonably slick on the attack and I thought we’d managed to get over the atrocity that was last weekend.

However, after this initial wave of enthusiasm, we appeared disorganised, lethargic and sloppy.

We failed to defend a goal, which could’ve easily been prevented, and continued to look like rabbits caught in the headlights whenever the relegation-battling side came towards us.

In all honestly, we were lucky to get the win.

David Ospina 7

Made a couple of top-class saves but failed to save the goal, which came at his near side.

Hector Bellerin 6

Appeared improved in the first half and applied some good pressure, but still left spaces behind him when trying to get forward.

Per Mertesacker 6.5

As usual, made some great clearances, including once which prevented Leicester from getting two goals but wasn’t as organised as usual.

Laurent Koscielny 7

An extra 0.5 for scoring the goal but, despite being generally solid, still wasn’t up to his usual standard.

Nacho Monreal 6.5

Got forward and made some surging runs but ultimately looked out of position and panicked, like the rest of the defence.

Francis Coquelin 6.5

Began making rash challenges but also made some confident interceptions.

Tomas Rosicky 7

Sharp going forward but disappeared towards the end of the game.

Theo Walcott 7

He scored and looked quite lively going forward but can be selfish and doesn’t track back nearly enough as a winger should. Bellerin will get a lot of flak for leaving spaces, as he should, but Walcott should also have his fair share, especially as he’s the more experienced player.

Santi Cazorla 7.5

Marginally better than most on the pitch but even he was a little sloppy both in possession and with his passing.

Mesut Ozil 8

It takes a lot for Ozil to actually play badly. He had a hand in most attacks and, although he seemed a little lethargic towards to end, was generally not terrible.

Alexis 7

You can tell he’s had a couple of games off. Even though he looked creative going forward and got into the right spaces, his accuracy seemed a little off. I’m sure this’ll improve with game time, though. Hopefully the knock he picked up in the first half isn’t serious.

SUBS

Olivier Giroud 6

Got on the pitch and seemed to want to make an impact, despite failing.

Aaron Ramsey N/A

The poor bloke was barely on the pitch before getting injured. Fingers crossed it’s nothing serious but Wenger has already admitted it doesn’t look good..

Mathieu Flamini 5

Not on the pitch for long but managed to have a shot and not kill anyone. Improvement.
