What a game!

Just like the Brighton match, Arsenal came out all guns blazing and scored an early goal.

We were always in control and continuously looked dangerous on the attack.

Slick passing, tons of creativity, clinical shots and blistering breaks made us utterly lethal, yet we still didn’t even look as if we were out of second gear.

We’re playing with such confidence and style that I hardly recognise us from earlier in the season.

David Ospina 8

Although he didn’t have a great deal to do, he seemed comfortable when he did and made two good saves.

Hector Bellerin 8.5

Applied good pressure and is developing well. Needs to remain to focused and stay organised but that’ll come with age. Scored a brilliant goal at the end – his first for the club

Per Mertesacker 8

Solid as always and strong in the air.

Laurent Koscielny 8

Snuffed out most attacks effortlessly; great interceptions and positioning.

Nacho Monreal 9

This guy works so hard, as part of the attack as well as the defence. Kept making impressive, long forward passes which gave us another option going forward and seemed to unnerve Villa.

Francis Coquelin 8.5

Looking so confident now. Made strong but well-timed challenges. Also loves a good rallying cry.

Aaron Ramsey 8

Looking strong. Great control, calm on the ball and made creative, well-timed runs.

Theo Walcott 8.5

Consistently found space; not back to his best yet but still managed to score a beautiful goal. We’ve really missed his pace on the break.

Santi Cazorla 10

He was everywhere at once and involved with every movement. He can read Ozil so well and can pass the ball through the eye of a needle, which is handy when teams throw all their men behind it. Trolled Brad Guzan with the penalty.

Mesut Ozil 10

Always finding space and seeing passes that no one else can. Linked up well with Santi and that flick on to put Giroud through for his goal was stunning. Scored one, should have had two if the linesman knew what he was doing.

Olivier Giroud 9

Scored a goal and is always looking to score more. Sometimes a little frustrating to watch as he can be a tad wasteful but has turned into a great forward. Excellent pass for Ozil’s goal.

SUBS

Tomas Rosicky 7

Bags of energy; never stops moving.

Chuba Akpom 7.5

Very quick and eager to get into space. Made some exciting runs and won the penalty.

Mathieu Flamini N/A

Only on the pitch for a little while. Managed to not get a yellow card, which is nice.
