After arriving in Italy on Friday night, Lukas Podolski has wasted no time in getting everything in order.

Heading for a medical early on Saturday morning, the Arsenal man completed the two-part process and is set to train with his new teammates on Saturday afternoon ahead of an official announcement.

The deal, which is a loan until the end of the season costing Inter Milan €600,000 had been thought to include an option to buy but it seems that is not the case with Arsenal perhaps hoping that a good showing from Poldi in Italy will help them open up a bidding war for the player’s services.

Poldi allegedly took a pay-cut in order to ensure the move happened as Arsenal and Inter could not agree on the loan fee and the player has already spoken about how happy he is to be at Inter.

If there’s one thing that Podolski knows how to do well, it’s how to get the fans of his new clubs on side very quickly by saying all the right things.

Speaking about the move, Inter manager Roberto Mancini said

‘I know him well, he’s a world champion and Germans always do well in Italy.’
