Arsenal defeated Brighton 3-2 to secure a ticket into the fifth round of the FA Cup, but how did the player’s get on?

Arsenal had a spring in their step from the first second, with a slick goal being slotted home within the second minute.

In the first half, our attack was relentless and barely gave Brighton a minute’s rest; although the second half wasn’t quite as simple, we managed to weather the storm until the final whistle.

Our passing and overall accuracy was spot-on and, despite one or two hairy moments at the back (where they scored), we generally played well all over the pitch.

Reassuring to see from a “weakened” side.

Wojciech Szczesny  7

Didn’t have too much to do, but wasn’t too impressive when he did.

Calum Chambers 8.5

He looked keen, sharp and on-the-ball (no pun intended). Always busting a gut to help the team and even got an assist for the first goal. Such a mature player for his age.

Laurent Koscielny 7.5

Always secure and made some great clearances. However, not his sharpest match.

Nacho Monreal  8

Still doesn’t seem 100% comfortable at CB but gave a reasonably solid performance.

Keiran Gibbs  9

So quick and assured down the left hand side. Also made some excellent forward passes.

Mathieu Flamini 6.5

Anonymous for a lot of the game. Seemed slow and not a big help with the defensive work.

Theo Walcott 8

Scored an excellent goal. Always eager to score – although sometimes he should make the pass rather than take a shot. Great to see him starting again.

Aaron Ramsey 8

Solid, creative and looking more and more confident by the game.

Mesut Ozil 8

Everywhere at once without looking as if he’s doing anything. Such an intelligent footballer and also scored one of the most casual goals you’ll ever see.

Tomas Rosicky 10

It’s no secret that I love Rosicky more than is probably considered appropriate. Constantly finding space, making forward passes and snapping up an assist and a stunning goal.

Oliver Giroud 8

Another great game; linked up really well with Ozil and always looking to assist.

Chuba Akpom 7

Quick, strong and made great runs.

Alexis 7.5

Skilful as ever, although dispossessed easier than usual, always looking to score.

Francis Coquelin N/A

Wasn’t on the pitch too long, but was solid enough for the short time he was.
