Danny Welbeck is set to make his return for Arsenal.

The forward, who has been out for the past three games due to a thigh injury, could make his return against Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday but it is more likely that he will be eased back and return for the FA Cup game against Brighton & Hove Albion the following week.

The loss of Welbeck has been softened somewhat by the return of Olivier Giroud after he served his three-match suspension for the red card he picked up against QPR on Boxing Day but the loss Danny’s work-rate would be a blow to any side.

With Theo Walcott back along with Mesut Ozil Arsenal are starting to get into the position where the manager has a selection headache for all the right reasons.

Often struggling to find enough senior players to fill the squad, the manager will (hopefully) soon be struggling with how to keep all his key players happy.

What a nice change that will make.

UPDATE

Arsene Wenger told Arsenal.com

Danny Welbeck is not ready yet, he is still feeling some pain, so we will have to be patient.
