Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain is a doubt for Sunday’s game against Brighton in the FA Cup.

The midfielder is suffering from another groin problem, this time inflammation, meaning he had to undertake a fitness test on Thursday, the results of which are not yet known.

Speaking to the press on Thursday at his regular press conference, Arsene Wenger said

We have some uncertainties about Oxlade-Chamberlain and Bellerin but they will have tests today and Bellerin should be available. Oxlade-Chamblerlain, I’m not sure.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has an inflammation of his groin problems.

With Wenger likely to make changes to his side for the game at the Amex it is not clear if he was planning on using the Ox as he intends to give a start to Theo Walcott.

With more than enough players available to him now, Wenger can afford to be cautious with the Englishman and allow him to rest for another week before the next Premier League game against Aston Villa at the Emirates.
