Francis Coquelin has almost agreed a new deal with the club.

Speaking at his pre-Aston Villa press conference, the Arsenal manager confirmed that the deal is ‘99% there.’

Coquelin is one of a number of Arsenal players who is out of contract in the summer.

Asked about Mikel Arteta, who is also out of contract at the end of this season, the manager said that there was no update regarding his situation.

The question was likely prompted by the claims earlier in the week by Arteta’s agent that the club captain had agreed a one-year extension to his Arsenal contract.

Mathieu Flamini is also out of contract in the summer but on-one seems to care about that whatsoever.

Another player who could be on his way out when the season concludes is Chuba Akpom.

The young striker is believed to be stalling on a new deal with the club and has already received offers from a number of others, including Borussia Dortmund.

It is claimed that he is restless for more first-team action and is yet to be convinced that he will receive that at Arsenal with Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck all ahead of him and Yaya Sanogo likely to return to the first XI next season.
