Arsenal’s Isaac Hayden has successfully undergone surgery and is now recovering.

The defender, who vanished from the Arsenal first-team without a word being whispered, picked up an ankle injury in November that was supposed to keep him out for two months.

In true Arsenal-fashion, however, the defender has underwent surgery at the point he could have been expected to return.

It is not clear how long he will be out for.

Hayden had been called up to the first-team squad this season after lack of movement in the transfer market and predictable injuries left Arsenal short in defence.

He has made one appearance for Arsenal this season in the Capital One Cup.
