Arsenal’s youth team face Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday night and the press in Spain seem more than a little concerned with Dan Crowley.

The midfielder, who signed for Arsenal in the summer of 2013, is the club’s top scorer in this year’s competition with five goals in seven games (and five assists) and is fourth in the competition with efforts on goal as well as the second most-fouled player in the tournament.

Described in the Spanish paper AS as ‘the new boy wonder of British football’ the midfielder has nine goals this season in all competitions and six assists.

Likened to Jack Wilshere, Crowley arrived from Aston Villa where he had played since he was 12 and is under contract with the Gunners until 2017 after signing his first professional contract in August.

Still only 17, he has a very big future ahead of him.
