Youth Cup

Arsenal progressed to the next round of the Youth Cup after defeating Royston Town 2-1.

Both goals came from Stephy Mavididi [37, 43]

They will face Crewe in the fifth round on Monday 2nd February.

Highlights:

Loan watch

Yaya Sanogo

Yaya got 70 minutes for Crystal Palace in their FA Cup game against Southampton and was integral to the Eagles win grabbing not only a goal but an assist as well.

Matt Macey

Continuing in goal for Accrington Stanley, Macey conceded two as his side lost 2-1 to AFC Wimbledon but made a number of decent saves.

Jack Jebb

Jebb is still recovering from a knee injury.

Carl Jenkinson

Jenks continued his good run in the West Ham first team, playing the entire game as the Hammers dumped Bristol City out of the cup. Contrary to reports, West Ham have not [yet] enquired about keeping Jenkinson beyond the end of the season.

Austin Lipman

Boreham Wood did not play.

Ryo Miyaichi

Left out of the squad. Again. Reports claim his loan deal could be cancelled as he heads somewhere else.

Lukas Podolski

Poldi started and played 66 minutes for Inter Milan on the right of a front three as they lost 1-0 to Torino after conceding a 94th minute goal. Seems it’s not just at Arsenal where he doesn’t get to play for the full 90 minutes (I joke, he played the full 90 midweek against Sampdoria as they won 2-0) .

Jon Toral

Toral featured for the final three minutes for Brentford as they beat Norwich 2-1.

Josh Vickers

Played the full game and kept a cleansheet as Concord Rangers defeated Whitehawk 3-0

Wellington Silva

Got 73 minutes for Almeria as they crashed 3-0 away to Espanyol.
