Arsenal romped to a 3-0 win over Stoke at the Emirates on Sunday in the Premier League.

Definitely one of our strongest performances this season; the whole team seemed switched-on and solid.

Our midfield particularly stood out with all players confident and completely in control.

Alexis utterly terrorised the Stoke defence and came with away with two goals and an assist for his trouble.

At the other end, a well-organised and decisive defence kept a clean sheet.

So, how did the players rate?

David Ospina – 8 He didn’t have many saves to make but managed to scoop up any shots Stoke did have on target.

Mathieu Debuchy – X The poor bloke got stretchered off after 12 minutes with a suspected dislocated shoulder so it’s not really fair to give him a rating.

Per Mertesacker – 8 Confident interceptions and even some sneaky, thoughtful forward passes.

Laurent Koscielny – 8 Strong and calm under pressure. Scored our first goal in the fifth minute.

Nacho Monreal – 8 A solid performance; keen to move forward and quick to get back.

Francis Coquelin – 7 Still a little rash when it comes to challenges, which can be concerning when we’re already running low on defenders.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 8 Growing with confidence every game. His ability to hold onto the ball while dribbling has improved hugely.

Tomas Rosicky – 8 A pleasure to watch. Not only is he quick and decisive with the ball going forward, he’s strong and secure at the back.

Santi Cazorla – 8 Really coming into his own and looking reassuringly confident in midfield. Well-timed and creative forward passes.

Alexis – 9 MOTM Scored two goals, one of which was a stunner, and seemed to be everywhere on the pitch at once. An unreal footballer; genuinely so exciting to watch.

Olivier Giroud – 7 Getting into the right places at the right times but needs to be a little more clinical with both his shooting and passing. His temper is also a little concerning.

SUBS

Hector Bellerin – 8 Came on in the 12th minute and gained confidence as he warmed up into the game. Frighteningly quick and seems to work well linking up with Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Theo Walcott – 7 Understandably a little rusty but showed he hasn’t lost pace.

Mesut Ozil – 7 Didn’t hide and was keen to be involved with the play as soon as he set foot on the pitch. In the short time he was on the pitch, he showed moments of brilliance. Glad to have him back.
