Arsenal ladies have added a new player to their ranks – Barcelona’s Vicky Losada.

The former captain of the Catalan side, she helped Barcelona secure three Superliga titles as well as three Spanish Cups.

Playing in the US with New York Flash during 2014, Losa worked alongside the current Ladies boss, Pedro Losa.

The Spanish international, who plays in midfield, scored three goals for Spain in seven appearances as her country looked to secure qualification for the World Cup which takes place later this year in Canada.

Speaking about signing his former player, Losa told Arsenal.com

“Vicky is a very exciting player for us. I know her quality well from working with her at New York Flash, where she had one of the best assist records in the league.

“She is creative player, dangerous going forward with lots of energy and commitment. She will be a very valuable addition to the squad. I would like to welcome her to the team on behalf of everyone at the club.”

Born in Terrassa in the east central region of Catalonia, Losada has spent the majority of her career with the Spanish giants. She spent a year with Espanyol in 07/08 in addition to her year with the Flash before moving to Arsenal.

Spending a total of nine years with the Spanish giants, she joined Barcelona when she was just 13.

Losada, 23, is expected to join her new teammates for pre-season training at the start of March, around the time of her 24th birthday.
